Cloud Nothings Signs to Pure Noise

Cloud Nothings are back! Cleveland’s loudest export have joined the Pure Noise Records roster and to celebrate the announcement they’ve returned with a raucous new single, “Final Summer.”

Recorded with Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, The War On Drugs, Torres, Purling Hiss), mixed by Sarah Tudzin (Porches, Tim Heidecker, Pom Pom Squad), and mastered by Jack Callahan (Ryley Walker, Merchandise, Wolf Eyes), “Final Summer” is the perfect reminder of what Cloud Nothings do best. The track emerges from a wash of crackling synths before roaring to life with a cutting riff and driving beat. Very few bands can pack a dynamic journey into a hooky rock song as effectively as Cloud Nothings and after its four minutes are up “Final Summer” will have you hitting repeat to take the ride again.

Guitarist/vocalist Dylan Baldi discussed the new song, saying:
“’Final Summer’ is about reconciling past versions of myself with the self I see when I look in the mirror every morning, always trying to learn more and using that knowledge to take the leaps of faith that are necessary to try new things and continue living and growing. Cloud Nothings has been around for 14 years now, and we wouldn’t have been able to power through the many ups and downs of those years without taking the chorus of ‘Final Summer’ to heart: I have some thoughts, I have some dreams, but I need to be happy with what I’ve got for me.

We’re really glad to be working with Pure Noise. It’s exciting to be on a label with so many great punk bands, and it’s going to be inspiring to see our music standing alongside the myriad sick records that Pure Noise has released.”

Over their nearly fifteen year career, Cloud Nothings have evolved from scrappy lofi upstarts into one of the most reliably phenomenal mainstays in guitar music. Made up of Baldi, drummer Jayson Gerycz and bassist Chris Brown, the band have become part of the fabric of modern indie rock as we know it, releasing an unbroken streak of great albums and touring relentlessly. “Final Summer” picks up where they left off, providing the perfect hint at what’s to come from the prolific group, and proving exactly why Cloud Nothings are one of our best and most enduring rock bands. Stay tuned for more from Cloud Nothings in 2024.

Next week Cloud Nothings kick off a lengthy run of North American tour dates with The Menzingers, Microwave, and Rodeo Boys. Tickets are on sale now, see full itinerary below.
