HEAVENSGATE ANNOUNCE NEW EP ‘A HEART IS A HEAVY BURDEN’
Australian heavy hitters Heavensgate have announced their brand-new EP, A Heart Is A Heavy Burden, set for release on 24th October 2025 via Pure Noise Records. Marking the next chapter in the band’s uncompromising journey, the EP showcases their signature blend of crushing intensity and raw emotion. To coincide with the announcement, Heavensgate have dropped a powerful new single and video, “PETRICHOR”, offering fans a first taste of the record’s haunting atmosphere and unrelenting heaviness.
Speaking about the new EP the band said, “A HEART IS A HEAVY BURDEN really is the sum of its parts, it’s our collective experiences as band weaved into a story that is heartfelt and resonates deeply with us, which we hope in turn our listeners can appreciate. It’s always a little nerve-racking putting a body of work out there which has this much variety, but we’re proud to showcase this next step in the band. The video which accompanies the release ‘A FAWN FLAYED’ is something we’re excited to share. A one-take video which we had no intentions of shooting but everything came together perfectly on the first shot. We felt that it was the best statement piece for the band which encapsulates this release.”
The band added about the single that,”PETRICHOR is an exciting release for us, there’s a lot behind it with the announcement of the forthcoming EP and tours. We feel that this song helps bridge the gap between some of our older material that fans grew fond of whilst introducing them to a fresh take on those ideas. We’ve grown a lot as a band and so have our tastes, this single perfectly encapsulates that and shows how much our sound has matured. The music video that accompanies PETRICHOR helped take the narrative aspects of this song to a whole new level which we hope the listener appreciates just as much as us.”
Alongside the announcement of the digital EP, comes ‘ANGEL HYMNS’, a collection of previous tracks and the forthcoming EP on special edition vinyl. Pre-order HERE
